Hopefully in a couple weeks we will be able to start working on the car again. Got a few wire issues to fix/complete. Switch out to the 4bbl intake and upgrade to a newer carb. Maybe slobber some paint on the motor.

After that take the car to get exhaust thrown on and have the car appraised so we can get insurance on and cruise

Just an update. We have the 4bbl setup complete on it. Painted the motor a dark gray color, put dual exhaust on it. Got 4 almost new tires put on it with hubcaps. Drove the car a little bit today. It has a stumble in the carb just off idle. Cant figure out why. We rebuilt the carb. It is avs/carter on it from a 66 chevelle. (I know its not mopar but its was on our shelf for some reason) The motor as far as we know is factory. Do I need to add zinc to the oil? It was suggested to me but no mention of how much or where to get it. Thanks Eric

you can use a zddp additive , i my self perfer not to use additives in the oil,, you can use what i use in my non roller cam motors, valveoline VR-1 do not use the bottle that says for off road use, according to techs at valveoline it breaks down after 500 miles,, the standard VR-1 has plenty of ZDDP over 1200 parts per million,, to keep your flat tappet lifter motor running nicely,,,i used sae 30w in my blown car and i use 10w40 VR-1 in my early hemi rod,,, some times u have to order it from a performance shop, or a mail order like jegs or summit,, i have a local mom and pops auto that orders it for me and it is less the the mail order places,,, there are other brands offering the same level of ZDDP or friction modifers,,but i have no experience with other brands,,,
