68 RR 4 spd.

I want to change the transmission mount. Is this a pretty easy thing to do? I admit I am a little terrified of being under cars these days. Want to get it done fast.

If you have done this, what is the procedure? Want to spend as little time under there as possible. Thanks.

Piece of cake , put a jack under the trans and jack it up to carry the weight , unbolt the mount from the trans and the trans X member from the body .

Done deal. Did it with all four wheels on the ground and no lifting.

Figured out you can't bolt the new mount to the transmission and fit the crossmember over it. Put the mount loosely in the crossmember with its little nut and bolt, fit the crossmember to the car loosely, bolt the mount to the transmission through the holes on bottom of crossmember, and tighten everything up.

You need two jacks (well I did); one to support the transmission, and one to encourage the crossmember to go back into place.

Just got back from a little test ride and no more binding shifter. I am pleased. I used the Anchor Industries one from Rockauto. I did not want to pay $50 for a hard poly mount for a street car that I cruise and run errands in.

You should have bought a case of them.
