What are the correct factory floor mats for a 71 Charger? Also does anyone make a decent reproduction?

Thanks in advance.

My old 71 R/T had them from the factory and they came with the car in the trunk when I bought it from the original owner back in the 90's. I have some photos of them here somewhere, just have to dig them out. They do have the part number molded into them along with instrucions to remove material along the additional molded line for manual trans equipped cars. Mine were never cut though. Here's a crappy photo of the mats in the car. I know I have better pics. I've also never seen any reproductions of these mats for a 1971 B Body.

According to one website I found these are correct for 1967-76. You cut the center section out for console cars. Can anyone confirm?

The factory (ordered with car when new) floor mats are different than the dealer accessory floor mats (pictured above or similar). Which are you looking for?

I don't think anyone is reproducing the "factory" mats.

I don't have much hope of finding the factory installed mats in good shape so the dealer accessory ones would be fine. I don't have any mats in the car but would like to have something that looks period correct instead of carpeted mats. Thanks

IIRC, these are dealer accessory mats. I think these are originals as opposed to repops.

Think the difference is the name molded in them vs repops?

Those mats look very familiar! IIRC the originals were stamped as Chrysler parts and the dealer accessory were stamped as Mopar parts? I'm not sure if the same mats would be in a B-body?

Another crappy photo but it's all I can dig up right now. Factory original C92 floor mats. Coded on buildsheet, window sticker and invoice. A pretty rare factory option. If you look closely you can see they do not have any Chrysler Parts or Mopar logos on the face of them. They just have the Pentaster logo and part number on each near the outer edge underneath with the driver's side one having trimming instructions molded into the bottom also. Sorry I'm having trouble finding all the pics I took, but when I locate them, I'll post.

Legendary does list a reproduction mat for a 71 on their website but they don't show a picture. I'll call them today to see if they can get me a photo. Thanks guys for the help.

Thanks for finding that earlier thread Dan... you just saved me a bunch of time hunting for my photos..lol The mats on the left are the exact ones my 1971 Charger R/T came with from the factory.

These were definately the front mats the car came with.

I'll try and get a picture from Legendary to see how their reproduction mats compare to the originals.

Sounds great Steve, let us know what they say. I can't imagine these would be too difficult to correctly reproduce. I know I'd grab a few sets of them.

They have pictures in their catalog to view but none on the website.
They're listed as a "Mopar Authentic Restoration Product" so I ordered a set but it'll be about 3 weeks before they get here. I'll post a picture once they arrive. The floor mats are listed in the catalog on page 108.

The A Body ones on page 110 look just like the original 71 B Body ones. Interesting.

I noticed that. Maybe I should change my order. Are you confident those are actually the original b body type?

The style in the pics above that I posted was definately 100% the same as the ones my R/T came with new. Those A body ones Legendary has look almost exactly like them. I would go for those instead and see how they look.

I don't see them having the matching rear mats though. Keep us posted Steve. Thanks

I have a set like the ones in photo (black) that have been cut out. They have mopar on the front, but no part number on the back. Are they aftermarket?

They're most likely a set of the over the counter ones, available through the parts dept.

The mats posted are 100% original and correct. I have a set from a 71 500 they were on the window sticker and build sheet as C92.
