I really like the BB Hooker fenderwells in a A body I've owned and race with both chassis and fenderwells, several different brands, and the fenderwells are way better when it comes to working on the car

Cab < I have always stayed away from fenderwell headers because I have heard others saw they limited the size tire u can run or they limit your turning radius ....not to mention ,i dont like cutting up the inner fender wells any more than i have to...I can see where they definately have an advantage when working on the car tho.......

You can run tall tires with the Pro Parts style and they are a semi fenderwell header.

Those won't work on a low deck in a stock A body 383 car Ask me how I know

Would they work with a low deck and raised port heads, such as 440-1s?

What head are you running? The TTI's won't fit an Indy headed 440 in an A body. I think TTI makes a header that fits a low deck in an A body. After basically ruining a set of TTI's trying to make them fit my SR headed 440 Cuda, I put my Hooker fenderwells back on.

I have used the same set of PP headers with my 383 and 440 using 452 and 906 heads,so I will disagree on that Cab.

Did you get the early, original PP with the two inch primarys or the later ones that Bob Mazzolini had TTI make with the Pro Parts jigs? Mine are the 2 inch originals, not the CPPA that Hedman made or the later ones They hit the standard starter and the mini starter, the oil pan, even after flattening the one pipe some This is a stock 383 with 906 heads on the stock 1969 OEM mounts in a 1969 GTS No sense in lying or misleading on these headers, there not made anymore I'm going to put EGT bungs in them and use them for dyno testing from now on

They are the early headers. In fact this set I know is going on 25 years.Bought them from Herb McCandless. No doubt they fit a lot better when I run a 440,but they do fit the 383 too.

Wow i must of got lucky then becasue my tti fit my 73 dodge dart great. did not have to beat on any tubes to get them to fit.But i had two places i had to watch. one was i am using the flaming river steel steering box. It had a rib on one side of the box i had to grind on a little to clear one tube and i had to install a plug on my pit-man arm grease plug. also if you are still using the factory 71 steering set up aka pit man arm/ drag link etc switch it out for the steering set up out of a 73 disc brake and up abody. Hi Bobby, Thanks I love the headers. I haven't had the Duster out sence last fall. The wife has been real sick off and on so I haven't had much time for myself. That's life. Looking forward to next year.

Hi Butch sorry to hear about the wife, tell her i said hope she gets well soon. Well best of luck to you and the wife and sorry to the op for high jacking his post. Mopar65

wow Dustin, seeing that pic makes me glad my A Body is a race only unit. cut out the inner fender, move the shock mount & grind off the leftovers & then anybody can make homemade headers look good.
But i do feel for your delemer, i have an E body that i will never cut but with a wider engine bay, header options are much better.
