I keep reading that a cage main hoop should be welded to "outriggers" connected to subframe connectors. But I cant seem to find a picture of them installed, particularly from underneath. This is my first cage so i want to get this baby right, and its on an e body if it matters.

Here's what I did. I found drilling out the spot welds and cutting the floor away for clearance is the way to go. I've done it without cutting the floor, more difficult.

Mine is an E-Body also. This is what we did. Just cut out what we needed & rewelded the tube to the floors when done. See my "coming to a trip near you" post here in the racing section for more pictures or shoot me a PM with you e-mail address & I can send you many more pictures of the progress pictures of my cage.

That was from underneath from the frame connector up to the main hoop. Here is another from inside the car.

What spec cage are you trying to build? If you are going to 8.50 and slower. You will only need to weld the main hoop to 6"x6" plates welded to the floor.
