Hello, just wondering if anyone can tell me how fast say a stock 400 big block 4bbl non HP and HP is a 71-74 B-Body? I am just trying to weigh my options. Thanks again guys.

Hmmm, depending on gear ratio, they may have a theoretical top end of around 160 mph. However, actually getting there is another story entirely.

Sorry, I should made it clearer on performance. I am just wondering how a say a 71-74 B-Body with a 400 4bbl/440 727 and 3.23 or 3.55 gears would compare to a 68 Coronet 440 with a mild 318 and a low gearset 904 and 2.76 gears?

The 400 should kill it.
I had a new 75 Road Runner with a 400 4 bbl and 3.21 gears. My friend had a 318, 69 Satellite with 2.76 or 2.96 gears. It wasn't even close, both cars dead stock except for dual exhaust on the 69.

ET will about 15 or so with 323 354 gears in the 72-74 cars, maybe a few tenths better with 391. You might be able to tune it into the mid 14s but it'll be tough stock. The 71 383 cars are a little faster only because of compression.
