Apparently, during the bodywork on my Barracuda, the shop removed and did not replace the ball stud/z-bar bracket on the frame. Can someone post pics or give me measurements so I can re-install it?

Thanks!

When going through the boxes of the parts they didn't reinstall, the z-bar was there with two small brackets on one of the ball studs. Did A-bodies not have the frame mounted bracket?

That's not the bracket I have. Looks like it may have never had one properly installed. One of the previous owners converted the car to a 4 spd and I'm discovering what a crappy job he did as I go along.

The 66 and earlier A bodies had a removable bracket that bolted to the inside of the inner fender. The bracket in the picture I posted is from a 69 Barracuda. My recollection is that the manual transmission 71 and 73 Dusters I had back in the day used the same bracket, and would assume that all 67-76 manual transmission A bodies would use the same bracket, but can't swear to it.

This is correct , the picture above is what you have to do Eric , the hole is in the inner fender panel , if the part that is in the picture is not there you need to get one , I think it's repopped , or just make something from a piece of 3/16 or 1/4" steel flat stock ... assuming you can't find a used one ... and weld it in place.

Thanks, John. The prvious owner had flat steel stock. I'll weld that on to the frame.
