1) Where is hydraulic roller retrofit camshaft. I'm installed a thrust plate and thrust washer to control both directions of the camshaft play. I did not get a chance to check end play before installing timing chain cover. Moreover i have no idea how to do this even without chain cover installed. Anyways i wanted to explore a couple options to measure camshaft walk with the timing cover installed. The two ideas I had was to put the engine against a wall and measure the flexure of the timing cover by pushing against it with a dial gauge indicator. I believe another option might be a L shapped wire fixed to a dial gauge indicator where the L rests in the valley between two lobes. Anyways, wanted to know of any thoughts on the process.
2) Since I am using the stock stamped timing cover which is too flimsy in my opinion, I was thinking of building up some plumbers putty behind the water pump to serve as a means to resist flexure in the cover and take up any additional slop I did not account for earlier.

i like the indy cast cover use .250 pump hsg spacers and space out the crank pulley
Overpriced and doesn't fit under the stock pump! Muscle Motors sells a VERY nice cast cover for $110. that fits under the stock pump. Thick enough to drill a hole for a pipeplug to check endplay.

Many people have, I have to run a stock cover so that is how I plan to do it , weld a spacer to the back of the waterpump housing .
