Have had these big block valve covers sitting around for many years.
I have always loved the style of these.

I think they're old Direct Connection pieces from the 70's or 80's?

Anyone know for sure what they are?

Thanks.

No Direct Connection logo stamped on the top, just a part number?

Thanks I though so.

I knew I had them buried somewhere, been waiting to use them, they are still in very nice shape.
I need to find the correct grommets for them.
I assume they will clear roller rockers.

I'm digging through old parts that I haven't seen in 10 years or more.

Dug these out also...got the engine to go under them too.

Now this set I like.... The others I never cared for.......

I guess it's what I grew up looking at when I was young.
I always liked the DC chrome ones with no logo on them.

I don't care for these newer style.

I think I have the same old set of DC covers on my 340, been using them since the late 80s.

Still using them today, just got home with the car just now.

The new ones look like chinese knock offs of a Chevy design...
The tall late 70's-80's DC covers look exactly like a 77-78 motorhome 440 valve cover with an industrial grade chrome job... I prefer the earlier covers which are OE 67-69 style covers...

Interesting read. Looks like I have the same valve covers on my car. Will have to check them out and see if they are dc covers.

For those using the old DC covers please post some close up pics of them.

I'm curious to see what everyone is using for breathers and/or PCV valves.

I need the grommets for mine and I believe these are correct?

Thanks.

I picked up a nice set of those on ebay a few months ago without the part number stamped on the them. They use the factory style grommets just look up grommets for a 77 440.
