ive got a 440 with trw dome 2295 heavy slug pistons. its a std bore block and piston and they are .060 in the hole. everything is uncut and undecked to the best of my knowledge. the heads are stealh 80cc castings i bought like a year ago. what gasket should i use, how much CR might i have with whatever gasket, and if i ran the 590 cam could i install it pretty early and make it work? in at 100-102?
5k converter and whatever gear it wants

You shouldn't have any issues putting it in at 102.
But always check valve clearance before advancing the cam,
Always know where you are at! Before going further,
I have run that combo, same pistons and cam, !
Static compression can always be mipulated by he cams profile,, IE overlap.
I always advance my cams ,and try to install close to 102 as I can get, I want the bottom end , get the car moving,
good luck

Aren't those pistons -6 cc @ .050 in the hole?? Stealths are around 82.5 cc average as shipped I would guess 11.35 to 11.65 to 1. with a .039 fel pro gasket.

Only way to get a dead accurate read is to down fill the piston and cc it then the heads but if you were to say 11.5 to one close enough you not making a watch.

I would install it at 102 (we had my buddies in @ 99.5 on a 10.3 to 1 eddy head engine and it went 10.90's in a 3400 lb car)

I would say (I'm sure) it will run fine on 73 octane with aluminum heads that big cam and a 5000 stall!

Found this
http://www.flatlanderracing.com/trwchry.html

and this

http://www.jegs.com/i/Sealed-Power/844/L2295F30/10002/-1

L2295F30

Now as much as the dome is 12CC the piston is down .050 and it has the big valve trough so it may be only an effective 2 cc dome as these numbers would indicate??
I remember mine were not to much maybe it's 6cc with the old steel shim gasket and 1 to 2 with the most often used .039 fel pro gasket?

Then my numbers would be 11 to 11.4 to 1 ish ??

summit think it has been re introduced with a much lighter construction

That cam will work quite well with or with out a lot of compression. You will need pleanty of converter, as it don't like to idle very low (1500-1700). If you can stick a lot torque, then advance the cam a few degrees, if not retard it or run it straight up. I run a 29.5 tall tire with a 4:56 gear, stealth heads, 13.5 compression and go 10.50's at Bristol.

Thanks for those links! Wouldn't installing it early like that keep the
Upper rpm's down too? I think that cam can be shifted at 6-6300?

We installed my buddies at 99.5 and he shifted @ 6800 to 7000.
was in at 104 picked up 1 1/2 two tenths.
it's a big cam likes it's rpms.
Mopar calls for it to be installed @ 104 but 102 or 100 is better.

Static compression can always be mipulated by he cams profile,, IE overlap.

Not sure how that works.
How do you change the overlap on the cam?

I'm sure he means different cams... we know you cant
change the over lap without grinding
To the OP question on the RPM... yes you move
the whole curve lower in the rpm range so yes it has
a lower rpm at peak power

You could decrease the overlap by opening the lash. It will of course make ticking noise and increase wear, but it is possible to some degree.

I ran the Isky 590-605 solid in my dart before the roller and went 10.40`s easy and drove the hell out of it on the street w/906`s to boot w/12.1 comp.
