My EGR modulator or valve is bad and is causing a vacuum leak or something to make my T&C stall when I put it into gear when cold. Can I just unhook the vacuum line to the valve and plug it until the special order part comes in (2-3 days)or will it self destruct with no EGR...? 2002 3.8 V6, wandering idle when cold, runs fine on highway, cranky at idle going into gear especially when cold. 68pishta@gmail.com

yes, should have no problem. The worst will be spark knock.(maybe) if no spark knock,You can live without it operating. Not too sure if that will cause you're problems though. Battery strong? week/slow crank puts the computer into a relearn and causes idle problems until the pcm relearns itself. Also make sure the throttle body insides are clean, they get cartooned/gummed up. messes with idle speed.Bad/weak egr valve usually gives problems all the time, not sometimes at certain temps.
