I have gotten a whopping 4 passes under my belt in my '10 6speed Challenger. Bone stock car with street tires with 40,000 miles on them.
First pass I cut a good light(the last one).
.123 R/T.
2.604 60 foot.
9.883 1/8
80.40 mph
14.817 1/4
101.62 mph.
When I launched it I came out at about 2500. Blew the tires off in first, grabbed 2nd and spun until I grabbed third.
Run 2 was pretty sad. Came out at idle and came off the clutch too fast, stalling the car.
.660 R/T.
6.378 60 ft.
13.923 1/8
77.27 mph
18.907
99.41 mph. Pretty sad. Those two passes were April 2nd.
Pass three was better. Worse too...
I was just trying to learn to launch it. Which I did.
Came out about 100 rpm. No spin, but sure didn't 'jump' out of the hole.
.845 R/T
2.323 60 foot.
9.367 1/8
77.76 mph
14.392 1/4
99.00 mph. Spun a little at the 1-2 shift.
Last pass it is starting to come together. Almost cut my reaction time exactly in half.
I came out about 1500 and it spun a little, but I didn't need to shift to try and control it.
.477 R/T
2.363 60 foot.
9.393 1/8
79.55 mph
14.304 1/4
100.82 mph.
All runs were with the traction control button off. Would have liked to try the 'key trick', but I couldn't get up to 11mph between the burnout box and pre stage beams.
Opponents were an '80's Cutlass, a 5.7 GTO 5 speed, a 2wd Ford Exploder, and an Accord.
Hoping to cut the time down a bit before I start to modify it any. Gonna try to drop tire pressure a bit and a friend has a set of Mickey Thompson E.T. streets we may try next weekend. Any comments, suggestions, diagnosis is gladly welcomed.

IIRC, you dont need to get to 11 mph to do the key trick, at least I didnt with my PCP one. Also, you could do the trick while you are driving in the pits and leave the car running.

I think you do, but will try it. Need to wash it soon. I thought of using it and leaving it running, but I sat for an hour before my first pass.

I was thinking about it, and when I ran my car at Norwalk, when it was 3 weeks old and 900 miles, my best times were with the traction control on. I ran a 14.22 @ 104, and it still lugged down on takeoff.

I would really like to dip into the high 13's before I start bolting things on.

Your tip worked. My first pass last night, traction control on, 14.19 @ 102. I dropped the air pressure in the stock Michelins to 30 pounds and pulled the air filter my second pass and I got a 14.27 @ 101.6.
Third pass I dropped the pressure down to 25, each time I drove around the water, staged, and launched. Ran a 14.152 @99.7.
I ran three more passes and the best of 14.195, and a best mph of 103.24.
They said on the p.a. around 9:45 that they would be running for 45 more minutes, so I figured I would try heating the tires for the heck of it and hopefully get a 13 before I went home. So I did a nice big burnout, staged, and the car launched pretty good. I did a hard shift from 1-2, and power shifted it from 2-3 and 3-4. Got a 14.05 @103.53.
So I figured one last pass to try for 13's! Big burnout through second, staged, and the launch was good. Power shifted through 4th, and ran my best 60 foot, 2.14, and got my 13! 13.78 @ 102.871!
I didn't think that was too bad on a stock car with street tires with 40,000 miles on them!

Thats not to bad at all, glad you reach your goal of 13's, but the main thing is you had a good time btw that 103 mph is good to get ya a high 12 second pass, work on your 60 foot times

And your R/T, .123 is not a good R/T. Nice pass though and glad to hear you can actually shift those things.

Thanks, I had a blast. Was all smiles leaving! That was actually one of the better reaction times! I'm not telling what the rest were!
Had never power shifted the car until last night. The throw is pretty tight. Thinking maybe I don't need the $300+ shifter!

13.70's is great. It really boils down to knowing how to drive the car. Once you figured it out you dropped from a 14.81 to 13.70's. Ron

I think there is more in it with a tire. But yeah, experience has helped! Everywhere I read someone was saying to avoid the water box like the plague! It worked out for me, though!
