If I remember correctly the magazine article showing the 1st 1970 Hemi cuda vert when it was new ( the red/red one) it had a black cap on it.
BUT, by part number I think it's 'supposed' to stop after 1965 models with 1966 to be the 1st time the tan one shows up.

I just had my 71 340 manual transmission distributor 3438522 restored by Brian @ Crossram Connection and he supplied me with a tan cap with brass connections that's very close to an original except for the "Made in USA" markings.
