I'm going to be driving my '67 Satellite out to the dragstrip this weekend to make some runs. I'm thinking about unhooking the front swaybar for better weight transfer.

Is it possible to get better weight transfer by just loostening up the bolts on each side of the bottom of the rods attaching to the LCA, instead of taking the entire swaybar off?

The reason I ask is that I have a long drive through the twisties in the mountains to get to the dragstrip. I'd like to be able to use the swaybar on the drive out, loosten it up for weight transfer, then tighten it back up for the drive home. Would this work? Thanks!

You only need to remove the end link on one side of the car to disable the anti-sway bar. The other side can stay attached. If it was me, I'd remove the driver's side end link.

Not worth the effort, unless you remove the entire bar and links - and drop about 30 lbs off the front of the car. To see any measureable gains, you will need small torsion bars ( 6 cyl ) and the correct front shocks to go with it. Also, before you remove or disconnect it, be sure the rest of your front end is tight, or you may experience some "additional" toe out under hard braking, adding to your adrenaline rush.
