I'm installing Edelbrock heads on Magnum SB using Cometic mult- layer steel gasket. The embossed ridge on gasket does not align fully with the water passage in the head - close, but too close for comfort.
Anyone sharing this experience?
The embossed ring around cylinder bore is OK. The problem area is with the "D" shaped water passages, the gasket just misses by a few thou at the one corner of the opening.

That is probably an Edelbrock problem not a Cometic issue. The Cometic gaskets are most likely designed to work with the factory Magnum heads and Edelbrock might have moved the water passages or made them a different size.
