I have a frayed battery feed at my alternator. I would like to find a way to replace the ring connector but still keep the stud covered up. I could probably replace the connector and then slide a carburetor vacuum plug over the stud but there would still be some exposed metal.

Any ideas?

A bunch of electrical stuff in the river city today.

Thanks

clip it off and head over to NAPA. if they don't have the exact boot terminal they'll have something close without the need for a jury-rig job.

Thansks Mike, didn't know that finding one would be that easy.

OK. Napa came up with a big zero for this little connector. Does anyone know what the proper name for it would be. Beginning an online search right now.

Thanks

Found them. Alternator hot-wire insulator. Year One and Little Detroit Restorations has them. $7 to $9.

i'm shocked that NAPA didn't have something you could have used that had an insulator cover. sorry to lead you astray!

No worries, they had the field wires.
