Can a class C do it safely and legally? I am very limited on storage space, so I need the smallest one I can find that will do the job. Plus it will be mostly me by myself, so I don't need to sleep 6 or 8 people.
I know some of them need to be reinforced in the hitch area, I just don't want to be hassled by the DOT ever.
I will be towing an open trailer with a 3600lb car and a golf cart.

any dually wheel 1 ton ( 3500 series ) with a 460 or so ci will work. I have had a couple of the motor homes and I like the ford the most.

Tried it for a short amount of time, and honestly a Motor Home is the only thing I've found that requires more maintenance than a race car!!

I loved pulling with my 78 class C. I got a 20 foot trailer that was as light as possible and load it so that I only have about 900 lbs on the hitch.

What engine? Is a 360 going to cut it, or do I need to find a 440? No Ford or Chevy chassis for me.

Over the years I have used my motorhome to tow but I only use it when we plan on staying over night or for 7 day races like the Halloween Classic. The first one was a 23 foot with a 400 smallblock chevy in it. I now have a 27 foot 460 Ford. Both towed my open trailer good but when I bought my 24 foot enclosed trailer its really works them with the hills in Pa. If I hit a hill at 60-65mph all is well. I love having it at the track but it can't compete with my Dodge diesel. I also beefed up the frame and hitch.

I wouldn't go to the races without it. It gets horrible gas mileage but just think about it , you have your home with you.
I would suggest nothing but BB to tow a trailer.
Logged many miles in a 360 dodge 24' motorhome.
I always thought Va was hilly?
