Steve340 pro stock S Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 1,547 Puyallup, Wa.	I did install a variable speed wiper on one of my 71 Dusters that i had because I needed the extra room to install my six pack air cleaner. The wire harness is the same, you just need the switch and the wiper motor.

44D6PAKCUDA OP top fuel 4 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,295 Land of 10,000 Lakes	I see they make a reproduction wiring harness for a 2 speed motor but not a 3 speed .Is the correct plug in for a 3 speed motor part of a different harness?

You also need the 272 cam arm and the tan colored bushing. The black 2 speed bushing will not work as well as the cam arm from the 2 speed. Typically 3 speed motors come with their harnesses already installed. They are not plug in type to the motor. Jules

That's what I was trying to say The underhood wiring varied A BUNCH depending on where the car was manufactured, I have been discovering all sorts of little wiring differences with Los Angeles built cars!

44D6PAKCUDA OP top fuel 4 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,295 Land of 10,000 Lakes	The problem I think I may have is somebody installed a 3 speed motor into this Duster and I think it originally was a 2 speed.How can I tell if they changed the linkage/bushings/etc to work with the 3 speed?If I find out they didn't change over anything,I'll just switch it back to a 2 speed.It never rains in MN any more anyways

JulesdaWiperman super gas J Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,984 Montreal,Quebec,Canada	The linkage and pivots stay the same. The cam arm should a part number ending with 272 for a 3 speed. The bushing on the cam arm should be tan colored for a 3 speed. It is black for a 2 speed. Jules
