I just got my trans blanket from Jegs and was wondering if anybody has any input on the subject. My car is a 67 Barracuda w/a 440 and 727 running 11.10's, I also received my 150 shot NOS kit at the same time in the mail. With the NOS kit I was a little concerned about blowing my foot off, so instead of beating the car to fit a shield I bought the blanket. How should I attach the top two straps that should go to the bellhousing, they would never fit my stock cars set-up......I thought about bolting the straps to my firewall right above the engine. Will my trans be prone to overheating, I have never had a problem before, I do have a deep pan. How can I expect this to work around my shifter linkage, I have a quarter stick shifter. Any input would be appreciated, I havent got the blanket dirty yet so its not to late to return it.

I installed my trans blanket by using the rear intake manifold bolts for the straps I have a trans temperature gauge and I haven't seen a increase in trans. temps so far my balnket is the universal RCI and it doesn't fit real tight on the Mopar after market large sump steeel trans pan My motor is moved back one inch on the trans mount in my 1971 Duster (it has front elepahnt ears also) so the trans in closer to the body than most, in fact I have to drop the trans down and remove the front elephant ears bolts from the frame to get the trans in and out of the car and to install the blanket easily I bought the CSI carbon fibre trans sheild firstand ened up buying and using the blanket
