Got my new 750 Quick carb. In the booklet it says for power brakes use vac at rear of carb not one in an intake runner like the stock intake. Is there a difference in vac between the two positions?

do you have a vac gauge? if so check at both locations. remember power brakes means that you do not to push as hard on the pedal. most stock motors will pull about 14in of vac, enough for brakes and other stuff. you have to wonder why your carb would spec out a vac source, i believe stock would have from the manifold. unless the carb has a vac pump on it, why would it produce more vac than the intake manifold?

Is your intake a dual plane or single plane? If single it won't matter which port you use, if dual plane Quikfuel may be thinking that using the stock location may limit the vacume to 1/4 of the total engine vacume, I wouldn't bet on that

The other question is where do you put the PCV, it doesn't leave a lot of choices apart from sucking all the engine fumes into one cylinder....not the ideal scenario!
