A buddy of mine wants to get a fully assembled, blueprinted, ported and flowed set of edlebrock Victor Heads.

he tried with Jeff at Modern but he tells me that it seems he is buried with work.

Anyplace where he should try next? suggestions?

Talk to the guys at Hughes. They have a CNC program for those heads. They also have rocker arms now as well as some other parts that they developed for those heads.

Yes, I was thinking about them.

Guys here at moparts love to bash em though.

They flow claims and stuff like that always seems to be on the happy side from all what I hear over here, but oh well....I guess they cant be that bad! They have been in business for quite a while now...

Try Nick Wilson at Compuflow. He did my Indy EZ's and I couldn't be happier.

You can't go wrong with Dwayne Porter...I've used him on at least 55 different builds and everything has performed as good or better than anticipated....802-951-1955....

I will second Dwayne Porter as I bought my EZ heads from him and he did some of his magic work on them. He is good and a great person to deal with. Ron

Competition Components. Fully CNC ported and 2.25 intakes I think. Scott Brown is good guy to work with.

If you want heads that aren't full-blown CNC jobs, I also give Dwayne Porter kudos for all the work he's done for me in the past.

For the CNC'd stuff (definitely more expensive), Hughes CNC'd Victors are worth looking into. I haven't gotten my engine running w/ them, yet, but all indications are they should make good power. Search back a couple of years for my posts on mine tested on other flow benches to see some unbiased numbers.

I'd recommend Jim and Cody LaRoy of LaRoy Engines in Challis, ID. They do hand porting only and put the Edelbrock RPM heads into the 345 cfm range at .700" lift and the Victor heads 365 cfm at .700" lift. (208) 879-2969.

Hello,

Sounds awesome but have concerns. RPM's going to 345? Any back up or verification to this. I know benches are all over the map and LaRoy does good work but would like some backup to those numbers. I do not intend to start any bashing. ONLY looking for some verification.

X2! I flowed 2 separate sets (compared to others here who have had multiple sets done) of Jeff's heads on 2 different benches and Jeff's numbers were within 1 cfm of his sheets. I'm sure some hand porters can come close or maybe match his numbers, but for cost, flow, and consistency Jeff is tough to beat. I guess that makes me a MCH n*thugger...

Jeff's turnaround time is the only downside. The best are always in demand...

Dunno, but a set of those Edelbrock RPMs made 787 HP on a 11.7:1 NA pump gas 451 stroker.

Two months prior to that they only made 726 HP at 600 rpm/sec on Comp Cams Dyno.

The heads flowed 287-291 cfm out of the box.

The Edelbrock Performer RPM 440 test head on 3/15/2012,

.100"......75
.200".....152
.300".....216
.400".....265
.500".....301
.550".....322
.600".....333
.650".....342
.700".....350
.750".....354

Very sad Mick, very sad. One run only. Went into a 3200# Demon with a 200# really bad driver using an 833 4spd. I won't use his name, but the drivers initials were Jim LaRoy. He had to replace the transmission AND some valves in the engine after a 2.00/60', 11.30/127mph pass. Poor guy vowed to never race again until the car had an automatic in it.
