Drivers side of the engine. Below the exhaust manifold at the front of the bellhousing. What seems to be the problem you are having? Sometimes an engine not turning over is not the starter being bad.

Actually putting a car back together that I did not take apart. I have a newly rebuilt 440 engine that I am painting with Eastwood street hemi orange and as I was looking around I could not picture where the starter is going to mount. Thanks much for the help!

The starter actually bolts to the transmission/bell housing, NOT the engine... This might be why you are confused...

Mate the engine to the trans, and you'll see exactly where it goes on the drivers side!
