on the main hoop, the big part from rocker to roof- across the car and back to rocker, the supporting bar where a "seat belt" would install directly behind the driver going across the main hoop- what size does this need to be, i bought a chis alston kit for my barracuda and it came with a few extra bars... do i need to use the 1 3/4 or the smaller tube for this? I have enough to do either

Make sure the crossbar is within four inches of the top of your shoulders when your in the seat, mine isn't and I have to have another bar added now

Cab - you may be able to add a couple of vertical bar behind the driver seat rather than another cross bar. I did that as the beginnings of a funny car cage, but left the front section of the funny car cage off (could be added later if someone wanted to go faster than 8.50).

1 1/4" is ok for the cross bar and per my RCI belt instructions, shoulder mounting should be 4" or less below the the top of the shoulder line. I put my seat in first, before I welded in my cross bar to make sure I was within that 4" distance.

and for last one now, i know common sense says i should center the 6x6 plate under the roll bar... but what if i do not have room to center the plate???? i do not see any where in the NHRA general regulations where is states this?
so is this common practice but not actually required?

No it doesnt have to be centered... your spreading
the load out with the thicker plates vs just putting
the tube on floor pan sheet metal
