When the last guy took out the horns in my 72 Cuda he just cut the wires off by the horns. How would I splice the female ends onto the Dark Green/Red wire that is hanging there so that it goes to both horns.
I have an idea but everyone's input would help.

Also would anyone have a picture of how they are mounted on the radiator support?

Thanks

Mine is butchered too I figured I'd find a harness from a similar Mopar and cut it up high after pulling back the loom and splice it in (correctly) but pics and info would be nice.... HEY DENNIS EDIT hmmmm let me check a parts manual

Hmmm, that explains the hookup. Pretty straighforward. Wouldn't mind seeing a picture with the Spartons mounted, though.

Thanks Bob

On a Challenger...I don't know if Cuda's mount them the same way.

I checked my pictures and did not get a good shot like this for my car. Darrens photo is right on. It seems to me that as I remember the hookup and wire routing went pretty smooth from the harness. Will double check today.

Really hard to get in there with the car assembled, but the horns mount on the header panel vertical support, facing the driver side. Here's the driver side view:

remember when you said honey, some day that car is gonna look so good in front of our house

And the passenger side. Once you get everything in place and play with the positions it makes sense. HTH.

Thanks for the help guys, I got 'em in and really no big deals since the mounting bracket has a little tang that keeps them from twisting on the header panel support. Just had to look for a big hole with a little hole next to it.

Now I just have to get a horn relay.

Thanks

Bob (Ucudant),

If I'm not mistaken these are the 72-74 horns that they used on the Cuda. One Hi and one low.
edit: They are painted with Krylon satin black which is REAL close to the black plastic that the "horn section" is made of.

Chuck

I believe they were dipped in gloss black paint from the factory. Yes, one half is a flat black plastic but it got dipped with the rest of the horn. My original horns still had a lot of paint on the plastic section.

Wow, I have a Barracuda and a Challenger. Both have the horns mounted PS just behind the radiator support. Mine may be wrong...

The horns were moved starting in 72 because the charcole canister was mounted where the horns used to be.
