To me what good is having a hotrod and not shifting it when you want to. Reverse manual valve body all the time for me. Course I do race my car sometimes but it is so much less hassle as you dont have to fool with kickdown linkage and it shifts great when you want it to. Ron

I dunno how you use your car, but I like to be able to just gurgle around and grab 2nd for coming out of a turn or going up a hill when the transmission doesn't do it by itself. I love the smooth shifts when it's all warmed up, and it holds gears and shifts predictably when using the 3-2-1 part of the tree just fine if I feel like doofing it. If you cruise in the car at all I think it'd just be a hindrance.

I have a RMVB in my '65 Satellite. I prefer to shift my gears so it works for me. You have to be careful, though. It will go into whatever gear you put it in, regardless of your speed. In other words, you can put it in 1st gear at 80 MPH and it WILL GO into 1st gear.

It also requires other mods to your trans, as previously stated. I got all my stuff from John Cope and I did all of the work myself. It turned out well and shifts VERY hard.

it's like driving a clutch car with no clutch...you do shift all the time in traffic... but you have a good time doing it...
