Doug..naysayers??? That's right..my painter was using the "wrong" technique to put in a patch panel! All I can say is that I'm REAL HAPPY with the finished product! Is it "perfect"???...NO!..but it's a HUGE improvement over the old paint job! As far as polishing trim...I'll be doing a little bit of that..but the majority of it is being replaced! Matt from MCB,which is just 15 minutes down the road from me,is working on supplying the pieces that I need! Thanks Matt! I truly am blessed to have friends like Mike Rafferty(P-Body) I owe him BIG TIME..for helping me transport the X to the painter's house...and for picking it up,and bringing it back home! Also,for helping to drop off the block at the machine shop..which we did both today All-in-all,it was a GREAT day for Project X..and moving forward! Thank you all for your kind words,I TRULY appreciate that! Here's a shot of the GTX in my driveway..just before we unloaded it off the trailer..which is hooked up to Mike's great-running Dodge Ram Diesel! THANKS AGAIN,MIKE!

Thanks,Keith! The engine is a .040 over stock stroke 440. This past fall,Jeff at Modern cnc'd them and milled them for more compression. Was 10:1..now,11:1. I am in the process of putting in all new bearings,and piston rings..and installing new h-beam rods,aluminum main caps,and an ARP stud kit. I was running 11.20's-11.30's @ 119-120. Hopefully,with the head work..high 10's We'll see!

I hear ya Steff! Before I had Jeff mill them .060 last fall..I got .160 when I checked them. Should be around .100...but,I still need to make sure what it is..for MY peace of mind! If you have any spare time this week end,come on over for a look-see! Sparky..THANKS for the kind words! Make sure you have your Ray Ban's on next September..when you can check out the X in person! And you know darn well those FireCore stickers are a PERMANENT fixture on my side windows!...BTW..do I get a commission check this season...for the rolling advertisement???

Thanks,Al! I'd LOVE to see your NEW PAINT pics,as well! I wish I had a son who was a painter..could have saved some money...for ALL this EXPENSIVE exterior trim,that HAS to be replaced! Just picked up some sill plates..and the body side moulding kit,from Matt at MCB Metal,in Capac,Mi. Over $500.00! Waiting on tail light bezels..trunk finish panel,and wheel lip mouldings! They're on back order. Sometimes I wish I owned a Roadrunner!
