Yes the 3 on the left were once projected tip versions as well, cant beleive the abuse the ignition box was going through to fire those!!

Don't think the far right one was doing anything, looks oil fouled to me. Geez, now I'm thinking, if this engine isn't already broke, How long is it going to last? Guess we will know soon enough!
Here's where I am right now..2 weeks away.

The new CAP K-member is in, definitely picked up some much needed clearance around the oil pan. One tie-rod left to go, now where did I put those castelated nuts??

Looks like the carb horns will be at hood level, so the Hilborn style scoop should peek through fine.

Surprised to see those plugs in a carb application and never had much luck in street cars myself(customers)and maybe that`s why they look way rich...........

Dom,
I was totally unprepared last year, so when I fouled the only set of plugs I brought on the drive..those were all I could get at O'Reilly's.
This year I have 2 sets of every NGK from 6 to 9!

As a young man, I watched a movie called Two Lane Blacktop. While most people laughed at the premise as being far fetched, to me it was pure nirvana, who wouldn't want to jump in thier Hot Rod and run around the country in search of like minded souls just looking for a good race??

Early in this century, with a fresh DVD in hand, I invited a group of my Drag Racing buddies over to watch it. They made fun of it, didn't get it at all. You see, many NHRA racers at the top level simply view it as competition, and the cars as equipment, no different than a bat, or a helmet. I realized at that point I was hanging with the wrong crowd, then Drag Week was born, and the chance to live my dream scenario became a reality. This will be my third trip, and I can't thank both the organizers, and they people who choose to make the journey as well, enough!
MoparBilly FTW!

I'd say the Gremlin is on life support at this time..definitely least likely of the 5 planned to be ready.

Dale has the engine/trans where he wants them, and mounted in, but it requires slight relocation of the rack, and a new crossmember for it. Also, no headers built yet. He spent a portion of last weekend welding sub-frame connectors into Darren's Charger, and painting Boone's Cab, so his time is just about used up!

More pictures of this truck please! I'd love to see how the cage ties into the frame.

DevilBrad,
They haven't made it that far yet, since they were working with the Cab off the frame, the cage was welded onto 6" plates just like in a unibody. Then they will come off the frame with stringers up to the plates, they decided to through-bolt it as well, so if you look at this front shot you can see the bolts sticking out on both sides of the lower firewall.

Here is the bolts coming through the bottom for the main hoop stringers. The stock cab mounts were retained, because we decided with the amount of chassis flex the 512 will likely induce...it's probably not going to matter!

Cool, thanks for the pics. I'm building a 67 D100 and it's hard to visualize when the frame is at my house and the cab is at another house, LOL

The first time we went to Mokan Dragway with a car, we worked on it all night long, and were still finishing up when it was time to leave...
We were 21, 19, 16, and 15.

25 years later..still doing it the same way!!

A quote of mine from earlier in this thread...and here's viual proof of that first trip to the track, with the 4 boys facing the camera. Funny, didn't remember the ole Dart being quite that rough!! Dad was out of town, Mom flat-towed us to the track in a borrowed pick-up!
