State of confusion
Quote:

Most of the old drag cars we've seen from the 60/70's used outandish colors everywhere because, I guess, they wanted everyone to know they had touched every part of the vehicle!
In that vein, we decided flat black anywhere would be taboo..the Blue metallic on the frame should help create that feeling, without being too flashy. The Rocket wheels up front will be matched to a pair of 40 year old 15X10 Aluminum slots on the back that Darren spent the better part of 2 days on to bring them to a luster that will rival the fronts. The ScareBird disc brake conversion might not look the period, but hey it's going to get driven!! We put 7 degrees worth of wedges under the axle, hopefully it will feel better than it used to at 110 mph.

Way cool in my opinion.............. good luck guys on the project(s).

I've been pretty busy lately to check in your posts. Like everyone else, please don't stop posting. I remember reading your saga from last year, and can't wait for you to start posting this years trip. It is truely enjoyable reading your colorful and descriptive reports of the events. I will likley never enjoy a road trip like you and your brothers do. If you ever need a productive cousin/nephew/brother, just give me a call.

Yes, please keep posting! Those of us without the ability to do something as cool as Drag Week need to live vicariously through you!

A agree with the rest of them, keep on posting your progress. You might want to find a Moparts member with no neck, and arms the size of tree trunks to pay your brothers a 'visit' to get them motivated. Dave

All good reads. The wife and I are planning a trip to the Memphis Drag week stop to watch you guys. You will have some Mopar cheerleaders for sure.

Keep posting Billy, like you I also choose to work on cars during vacation instead of drinking margaritas on a beautiful beach while watching gorgeous foreign women in bikinis.

Billy... I can totally understand helping the brothers
but DAMN... if they dont want to work on it(their
own cars)then I would be putting the time in on my
own stuff to make sure I'M ready then help them IF
they(and you) are sure it can be finished in time...
like you it does get a little discouraging when you
see zero done after 3 or 4 months

Exctly, Mr P Body
Which is why the whole trip kinda put me in a funk. I had been on a roll with the Valiant before I left, but when I returned last Monday, I couldn't remember where I was headed on it before hand. Took me about an hour to find the next part that was going on.

Thanks for all the kind words guys, sorry I let my frustration get the better of me, but the "Screw This" meter was pegged on the way back from Oklahoma.

Sixpackgut,
The heat was definitely a factor, the reason the frame was being worked on in the dirt was we had it pushed out under the biggest shade tree. We finally resorted to an easy up over the cab for a bit of respite from the sun... Then we started to refer to it as our "Hillbilly paint booth".

We jumped on the cab as well, to start prepping it for paint..re, basically just some color, no time for quality! It's going to look the part of a retired, down and dirty Gasser, pretty much because if it makes it, it will be tossed together as quickly as the real things were!!

Billy one thing is for sure; ya'll are getting older and your pops is getting younger! Man, he still looks the same as 10-yrs ago when I first met him and your mother at SIR. Good genes! Great stories....keep 'em coming!
