Billy-

I too would like that 70 Plymouth! This looks like a perfect spot for a pre or post Drag week party!

70RR is just a V-code barn find, typical okie yard ornament.

Can't get them to send me any more pics because I haven't posted any of my mess yet, so I finally went out and put some work into the Valiant today.

The bane of my Drag Week 11, the Goodyear prototypes I picked up real cheap. Perhaps I should have heeded this label!

This one was completely false though...they performed like a champ on the 1200 mile drive, even in the rain. They were useless on the track, however!!

Two Stories in this pic.
I told Dale when he had the car, "The painter got overspray all over my rear brake drums, and you can see it through the wheels, so repaint them."
When I get to Oklahoma, I see white through the wheels and ask him what was up.
He says, "I did paint them..White!"
"Why would you paint them body color, I can't make out the detail of the wheels?"
"Why wouldn't I", he added, "Remember my red Duster with red drums when we were kids?"
"It was cool, because it was red, and it was 1986...not now, and certainly not white!!"

2nd,
The guy who caged this car, moved the frame rails in, and installed the ladder bars and 9 inch; wasn't real good with math..so I'm saddled with a 1/4 inch spacer on the passenger's side to put the wheels in the same place!! drives me nuts when I have to look at it!!

67DarTGT,
I won't know for sure until I run the car again, but a buddy at work runs a PSCA car, and he was at the Goodyear test session in Phoenix when these were tried. He told me they nearly wrecked a few cars showing the same symptoms as mine that day! He was actually apalled that they were sold by the guys testing them.

I'm gunshy now, don't know whether to try the MT radials or just go to the ET Street bias tires.

Managed to pull the exhaust, drive-shaft, ds loop (has to come out to clear those 1350 joints), Tranny crossmember, drain the fluid (it was beautiful) converter bolts, got the fresh bolt bucket going...very enjoyable Sunday afternoon!

I would run the radials, because you guys do so much driving on the road. And I have driven QTPro in the rain and 25-30 was all the faster I wanted to go. Now the mickeys I would run 50 with out having the white knuckles. Good luck, can't wait to hear this years story!

Last year, despite not ever driving the car on the street before, I had added nitrous and was determined to use it, so I went Mod/PA instead of NA, despite the number difference. My brothers asked me to change but I refused. Mod PA ended up being the fastest 3rd place plaque of any category, NA ended up with one finisher, so despite my terrible 12.52 average, I would've finished 2nd.

It's a 3.79 stroke small-block with a solid cam, j heads, low gear set 904. Went 10.70-123 in drag trim.

I added exhaust, dynomat, extra seat, swapped out the 4.30s for 3.89s, added a different carb...and showed up with no testing. I figured 11.20 on motor/ 10.20 on spray...Never got close. The car has a full cage, but I've never had it certed.

Like most DragWeek guys, I'm conflicted about a plan for this year..Repair it, go be a second slow for the class, and help my brothers. Add power to the smallblock, (I have well-used W-5s on the shelf, but they scare me as far as reliability). Or do I throw the all-aluminum low deck indy BB in with a glide, cert the car and go all in??

Probably just repair it and show up, we are really putting a lot of money and effort into the Gasser truck for my brother, and you know how easy it is to bite off more than you can chew for this deal!!

These are going to be fast tracks. All sub-700' MSL. I'd say go all in with the BB. Then again, I'm not doing the work!

Engine is pretty much stripped down, just need to pull the hood, loosen the mounts, and yank it.

Problem is, ya tear one down, then you have to figure out where to put all the parts, you just took off...
