What do folks think are the best head gasket and header gaskets for a 383 in 70 Cuda? I went to Summit and there are so many choices I thought I better ask here for the voices of experience!
Thanks!

Oh
I like the Fel Pro gaskets as they seem to seal the best for me.

Agreed..
We like the Fel Pro the best.
We actually purchased 4 or 5 different brands from Jegs, some were copper as we replaced the thin ones that came with our TTi headers.

The Fel Pro sealed the best and have been on for over 2 years, no leaks..

Just my $0.02...

FelPro 1009 for head gaskets; for headers, I always cut the excess flange off so it doesn't warp, which usually improves spark-plug access, and improves appearance. Gotta make sure the sealing area on the headers is dead flat, which isn't hard to do with a flat file. Then depending on the car, I either use the orangish high-temp silicone or a good soft gasket with a light film of sealer/adhesive. Remember to seal the end studs, as they go into the water jacket, and a little anti-sieze on all header bolts, even at the collectors. On the intake side, opinions differ between using just the tin bathtub gasket or not, but I've used some .015" paper gaskets on them for decades and have never had an oil/air/vacuum leak since. Had those made for that purpose.

I'll ask the stupid questions since left this question open ended and you can't really get an accurate answer for your head gasket question ... What is your build ?

What piston ?

How far in the hole ?

What heads ?

What compression ratio are you shooting for ?
