Getting ready to install the rear glass but there is some residue on the glass lower edge. Any suggestions on how to get it off?..tried a razor blade, window cleaner, laquer thinner, MEK wont touch it. How about OOO steel wool?

What is the stuff? I had some calcium type stuff on my windows that nothing, including steel wool, would fully remove. I bought a glass polishing kit from Eastwood and that did a great job.

It is a silica powder that you mix with water and make a paste of. Kit also includes an attachement for your drill to work the paste with.

I think it is calcium deposits from rain water sitting in the rear window Im trying some CLR right now on it and we'll see how that does. Any other tips.

Try Brasso, it comes in a can and is made to polish brass. When you used to be able to buy electric rear defrosters that stuck to the window, the instructions would recommend cleaning the window with this 1st. Try in a small area to see.

Brasso works well but have had better luck with Barkeeper's friend.

Barkeeper's friend helped, but did not remove all of my problem. Hence, the Eastwood kit.
