Hi.
I need to see some pictures of the trunk seal on a 1970 challenger.
Mine did not have any, thats why I need to see how to fit it correct.

Thanks

The seam where it butts together is somewhere near the trunk latch, it does not have to be exact. The glue is a brownish glue rather than the yellow stuff. I have replaced many and what I have found is to buy a bag of closepins with the wire spring holding them together and when you glue it use a closepin about every couple of inches and let it set overnight.

Long lip is up and the brownish glue is probably the yellow "gorilla snot" after 40 years I'd bet.

Shown in proper orientation. NOT my thumbnail. Ouch.

I think I bought the real brown stuff from Roger Gibson. That is the correct stuff. The yellow 3M Super weatherstrip adhesive (gorilla snot) works but you can see the yellow glue squeeze out.

Typical factory seal position seam.

Here are some pics I posted a few years ago, all displaying the same positioning.

Really? He has the brown stuff? have a picture of it or a link to it? I'd probably go with the 3M Black Super weatherstrip Adhesive. The Super is for EPDM which is what all this modern stuff is.

I bought it 12 years ago and have a tube of it in MN, but I wont be there for another month or so. I know for sure it was the correct brown stuff because I used it for a OE gold Hemi Challenger. I looked on Gibsons site and didnt see it. I am sure someone will have a site for it.

Just a 'side-note' ........ I contacted Roger Gibson Restos today and they no longer carry the "brown adhesive" . Hey "Superbeejim" would you like to sell your tube of adhesive
