Or.....You can run clones of the original Hemi carbs which utilize the stock style tops that will fit under all factory Hemi air cleaners. They only fit on factory 66-71 Street Hemi dual 4 intakes so won't work with your stage V, but if converted they use all factory style linkage, factory style fuel lines, and other original small accessory parts. I build them in 600 and 750 sizes, most often dual 600's are plenty for a 528 street build. These utilize all currently available Edelbrock tuning parts, rods, jets, etc. and utilize either a factory style automatic choke, or an electronic choke (shown installed below) for ease of drivability. Contact me for pricing if interested.

Scott , why won't clone carbs fit on a stage 5 intake? I know they won't fit on a a stage 5 under a stock air cleaner but that doesn't seem to be an issue .

Right John, other than the stock air cleaner (Stage V spacing is different from stock AFAIK) all other stock parts (with the possible exception of fuel line length) should work fine.
on the stage V manifold, the carbs are spaced farther apart, i think the same dimensions as the chrysler marine manifold, but may not be exactly that. the main reason is so holleys will fit on the manifold as well.
i'm building a 540 right now with that setup, and using the 650 thunders. tim banning at FHO advised against the 750's for this setup, way too much he said. your mileage may vary, but i'm going with the 650's.

Mickm, I agree, that was what I was talking about as well. Also, some are unaware that the various cfm ratings for the smaller Carters are better referred to as "guesstimates" than ratings. Modern 600cfm Edelbrocks and original 625cfm Hemi carbs are both basically the same carb. At any rate, Tim Banning knows his stuff. If you are planning to run anything that's truely street friendly stay under 650cfm each on dual 4's for a Hemi.
