I purchased a 2000 5.9L Durango a few months ago. I have alwys thought that all gas trucks had an oil capacity of 5 qts. When you changed the oil and filter. This thing holds 7 by the indicator when changed. I have put in a tube and indicator and double checked the part #s. The correct tube and indicator are in it.

Did they have any 7 quart factory pans? I cann't find a listing in the parts catalogs.

Doesn't look like this pan has ever been changed.

Any thoughts? Jim

No 7 qt pans. Should hold 5.5 qts at the most. Which filter are you using? You might get close to 7 with a long ford style filter.

Filter is the short 5281090ba mopar. 5qts just barely toches end of dipstick.

is it the right dipstick? the magnum dipsticks are rather long.

I can go measure one if you want me to. so you can compare it to what you have.

The part # on the dipstick is correct part# by the partrs catalog application. It also has the correct tube that goes with the dipstick. I replaced both together at the same time.
