Is this a show car, or driver? I was told this after I painted the doghouse on my daily driver 5 years ago. Used lacquer primer, base coat/clear coat and have not noticed any difference at all.

after the primer, witch i just use the laquer based high build grey primer,i have heard the term sealer as being applied over the primer.my question is what is it and why is it used?
I myself started reading books on it in 1964, OLD SCHOOL. today, read a book and go from there. BASE COTE-CLEAR COTE. LAC PAINT IS GONE. BUT SEAL IN THE OLD STUFF, or bare metal up restart. I've seen some nice jobs go bad without good PREP.
