I have a 70 340 block I am getting ready to do some work on. I would like to identify what this block would have come out of. Will these numbers tell the story.

FW340P31900390
Dated 1-7-70
VIN# 0B323302 or
0B323362

Thanks
Dan

F = 1970 Model year
W = Windsor engine plant
340 = CID
3190 = April 22, 1970 assembly date
0390 = Engine assembly sequence
0 = 1970 vehicle
B = Hamtramk Plant
323302 = Vehicle Sequence

Was the block painted blue or orange?

Scott, the block had traces of orange paint. Any guess as to what body this would have been used in. I would like to see if the car still exits before I put it to use.

Somewhere between those possible VINs, Hamtramck went from a a group of Barracudas to a group of Challengers, so it is from one or the other.

Can you get a clear close up photo of the number?

Might it be from a Duster?

The missing VINs I have in that assigned VIN range is too small for a whole run of A-bodies.

I really do wish more A-body owners would register though, I have some HUGE gaps that must have had some A-bodies in them.

Here ya go Barry. I'm still not sure, maybe someone that see's these numbers all the time will know.

Thanks
Dan.

I see 323302, so it is from a Cuda. I'll add it to my database & contact you if the matching car surfaces.

Thanks Dan!
