John Cope is very good. I bought rebuild parts for my PB trans. Everything worked great and his service was great. I haven't dealt with SMR so I can't say.

I have only dealt with Cope once and it was exemplary. Got in a Moparts massive GVO buy in a few years back. Easy transaction, everything was taken care of. If I ever need anything trans related...I'd probably go back to CRT without a doubt.

Pat has a friend accross the river in detroit I think, he took our trans over to him, and shipped it USA, and shipping wasnt an issue. It was only $75, or $85 to have the trans shipped to us when I lived in Wyoming.

How long ago was that?

We put the SMR trans and the 408 stroker in Dads 98 RAM back in 2005, and dad balooned the converter in 07, so 05 was when the shipping was so low, even now I think he still sends stuff over to Detroit.

I have an SMR A500....It was built using all their parts and convertor as well as their VB kit. Wroks very well and hasn't missed a beat yet.

I might opt for their shorty GV set-up on my next hot rod...

When i restored my dads 383 charger i called john and bought the 727 hand book from him and 1300 in hard parts to rebuild my first and and only 727 so far and he is a great guy , he answered all my questions and i have had a nice street strip 727 in since 2005 and have not touched it since runs kick a$$ for real!
