Do the base plates not need to be at least 6"x6"? Yes it does look good.

The rear bars actually go thru the frame. They are welded to the frame in 2 places. The bar runs thru the top plate also. The plate is 3x6. On the bottom of the frame is the design with at 2x6 plate. Contacted NHRA Tech about is design, and they responded ok.

Thanks for the pics. Always interesting to see how others do it. I just finished putting a 10 point cage in a late B body - which nobody makes a kit for. Ended up losing most my interior - and dash. No big deal as I was looking to lose as much weight as possible anyway. Bought an E body kit from Jegs which was relatively close ( main hoop anyway ) and built it as close to their drawings as possible. Front down bars sit on a 6X6 plate, but I had to build an inclosed box for the plate to sit on, as the floor was not flat in that area. This is a unibody car so no frame in this area. Didn't have a problem with NHRA tech as I raced this weekend. I'm sure there are a lot of variables that they see - and have to decide on.

We are going to use 2x3 tubing up front. Going to connect front subframe to sill plate with 2x3 tubing and gussets. Drop A pillar bar down on the tubing. Will post pictures when we get up front. Finishing back now.

Looking sweet. The rear portion is similar to how we are doing my Challenger right now.

Some update pics! He has the rear all set up and welded in place. Mike also welded a few nuts into the rear bars for a good ground, and has setup the battery disconnect since the battery is going out back. the rear is also setup for a fuel cell that I'll be putting in sometime in the relatively near future. I'm incredibly pleased with how this has turned out so far. Now onto the front of the cage! :2thumbs: apparently I am still technologically retarded. lets try this again.
