Picked up a 70 383HP and was curious to know what body style it came from.Im thinking maybe a Challenger. Thanks in advance.

Challenger or cuda , both were built at that plant in 1970.

Probably Challenger...and should have a SPD on fender tag of B08.Engine Assy date is Nov 21..so car probably built late November.Whats the casting date on the block ?

Casting date is 6-16-69 I only have the motor not the car

That would be quite the delay if the SPD was B08 and the car was built 3-4 weeks later ?

Yeah.....cars with SPD date of 11/21 are about 15,000 cars later.Weird.

I have seen Hamtramck builds very close together with the VINs close to 30,000 apart.

The SPDs do not mean much, it was a goal when the order first entered the system, nothing more.

Some goals were met early, some on time & some late.

As far as VIN experts go, there is too much to learn yet, so VIN students? Sure. Expert? Not this kid.
