Don't be confused....these are not the same clutch that you tried. The RST and RXT just came out a few years back. You probably had the "Original" twin disk that requiered it's own Flywheel and such.

These RST & RXT clutches use a stock flywheel.

Granted, they still hit hard, but I purposely got the RST (800hp rating) because it is supposed to have a much smoother engagement for driving around on the street....and it DOES!

The RXT (1000hp rating) is the same setup as the RST, but with different discs. They engage a little harsher than the RST, but no where near the "Original Twin Disc".

My car will never ever ever see above 650hp...probably never over it's current 550hp or so.

So 800hp rating and great street manners is the best of both worlds for me!

Yeah, I understand.....that's why I'm curious about it...

Thing that worries me is;
Quote:

I launch by relying on some tire spin the keep from bogging the motor down. At the track, I usually get about 10 to 15' feet of tire spin and then it grips.

I'm curious what'll happen when the car hooks up?? I've been low 1.50 sixty foots and have never had a traction issue, unless I mess up the burnout.. and if I leave anywhere over 3K, my motor runs right through the clutch......

My car makes about 590 at the crank and weighs 3,550ish.......with 4.10's and 27X10.5 Hoosier Quick Time Pro tires....been 10.66 @ 127 and would like to get it to ET where the MPH is.......car should go 10.20's-30's if I can get it to 60 foot good.......

If you can't handle the truth, you're living a lie.......

So many positive comments, curious, what does it weigh, Ie alum FW, what its rated dia, and any noticeable performance gain by being smaller/lighter?

There was a time I could have given you the exact weight. Not tonight though. What I remember was that the RXT was lighter than the comparable single disc and pressure plate. It wasn't a lot, but it was less. Any little bit helps when the engine has to get it moving fast.

I've dead hooked mine a couple times, and it just bogs it down hard. The clutch just won't slip with the power I"m making. Never has!

I'll typically bog if I launch lower than 4,000rpm. Nothing breaks, just doesn't run good numbers when it hooks up 100% at the line and the clutch is 100% hooked. Something has to slip a little to keep in the power band.

So I launch near 6,000rpm and it seems to work. I can always work on getting more traction at 6,000rpm launches and see what happens.

Slipper clutches are great, but too expensive for what I do! Too much maintenance too.

I'm sure I'm leaving some ET on the track, but what I do works enough to keep a smile on my face!

By the way, just had my car out for about 10 miles, stopped at a friends house and took my son to visit his buddy. Love driving it. Started snowing about 1/2 hr after I got home.

My new DPSS shift light works great. I really like it!
