What do you guys think about a HO-series 850 carb from AED?

http://www.aedperformance.com/HO.htm

They're racing carbs so I imagine that there's no option for a manual choke?

If not, I'll spring for a new 850DP w/manual choke.

I agree, the Fabulous Fabrications fuel lines look good. I'm sold on them too.

AED makes some nice carbs as well. You don't need a choke it is a hot rod.

Doc did my last two builds and dynoed them both.I have an old pair of super comp c body headers if you want to borrow them. They are 1 3/4 though.1 7/8 would be better.

Doc knows his way around a mopar. He raced them many years ago before he went to a sbc rail and pro stock truck.

I need to drop in and see the old dinosaur.

Just got off the phone with Jeff at AED.

He recommends a Holley 850DP with annular boosters.

The carb would be wet-flow tested, they will pretty much nail the jetting, and that the carb will be fine without a choke.

The mods place it in the custom-made variety. It costs a little more.

Thanks to everyone.

That will be a great carburetor for you. I never run chokes, or choke towers on my stuff. Pump the gas a couple times and it'll fire right up. Just feather the throttle a little until it has been running a couple minutes. These Holleys are great.

Ditto.

I have had them on everything from a 360 headed 318 to a torque monster 360 to a couple of mild 440's and they work well on all of them.

They do start a little better in the winter with a manual choke but as you said, I just pump the throttle a couple of times and let the motor warm up.
