I figured I may as well open a thread for my first ever full restoration. This is my 69 Coronet R/T hardtop. It is a factory A4 silver 440 auto car with the original fender tag and dealer invoices. Mice took care of the broadcast sheet and the original engine and trans was grenaded back in 1973. I got the car from the original owner back in late 2010. The plan is to redo the car in X9 black with a pure stock spec 426 hemi and have it serve dual purpose as a show car / pure stocker. Here are a few pictures of the car the day I bought it.

Obviously, the car is super rough. The main reason I am going through the effort on this one is because I love the idea of taking such a derelict car that needs so much and making it mint. Currently the car is at the body shop where it will have all the metal work, body work, paint work and panel assembly done. I am using all AMD sheetmetal on this one and all Sikkens paint products. In the meantime I have been restoring components during my time off of work. All of the under dash components ie: heater box, vent box, brake pedal assembly, e brake pedal assembly and throttle pedal brackets are done.

That will be a nice car when your done. Why the change from silver to black. Silver would look awesome.

But then again, black is pretty mean looking.
