My '65 Dodge came from Bob Banning & Sons in Hyattsville, MD., again, IBM card. My '66 Dodge came from a Chrysler factory auction and was sold through Hine Motors in Kinsman, Ohio after they were done racing the car. My '82 Plymouth was a body in white from Chrysler built at Herb McCandless Performance.

You could go to your DMV or the DMV inthe state where the car was purchased if you know it and see if they can do a VIN vehicle history search? Some states will do this service. There is a fee of course. If the car was bought new in your home state or just titled once before moving there, they will have a record all the titles. I got a report from the state where a car of mine was bought and they had all the titles and vehicle inspections with the mileage of each inspection year in the report. The first title will tell you what dealer sold it.

I dont know if they changed there policy lately but I will ask this week. Also some dealers did a DX (dealer exchange) so the dealer address on the orig sticker may not be the dealer that sold the car new. My VA car was sent to Winchester VA. from the factory but was sold in Centervill Dodge, a dealer 50 miles away.

I spoke to the original owners'brother, and he confirmed the location and it is a dodge dealership still to this day. Just never found anything with the original dealership name. I have the dealership code, just not with me right now. 1.50 60Ft. , 10.75@ 127MPH Hauling 3900 LBS.

I was lucky enough to trace the original owner in 2007. He only kept the car for 13 months but kept the original bill of sale. He gave me the BOS along with a class winner trophy that he won at Cecil County Drag-O-Way in MD back in 1969.
