i have a set of tti's 1" 7/8,(not the best) i want to know if its a bad idea to bolt a race muffler (kooks or arh type) directly to the flange,i've seen it before i just dont know if its good or bad..i do listen to advice so any would be good.I also was thinking open headers,i'd rather muffled though.

most header mufflers hang kinda low. They have to clear the floor of the car. Are you running a muffler class? might be better to clear the bend and hang a set of Moroso Spirals with turn outs on them.

if u bolt to the flange, i'd support the muffler some how to keep the headers from flexing. they may crack from the weight.seeya

Andy, remember the 3 chamber rule at Englishtown I went with the hooker aerochamber which is a straight through muffler available up to 3.5 inches last time I looked

Those are what I run. They do look like a straight through but they are chambered. Been 135mph through them kind of heavy though if you ask me.

FWIW, I have a 360 with TTI step headers - 1 5/8"-1 3/4" - which I ran open for a couple of years. Then I added a 3" X-pipe and Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers dumping at the rear end housing. I removed the 60lbs the exhaust added to bring it down to the same weight as before and the car was .05-.10 faster!

I figure that the mufflers didn't hurt at all and the X-pipe helped on my particular combo. I may go to their bullet version to save a little weight and gain a little more room around the rear end housing.

My 4 inch system is a pain the DIFF to remove.I doubt it would make that much of a difference other than the weight removed
