Hey guys, I know there are a couple of cowl hood threads on here, and some look real evil. However, my car is a street car and some of those to the window pin ons just won't work on my ride so im looking for pictures of bolt on cowl hoods to see how they look in terms of height and how close to the window they get Please post a pic of yours, and if you can remember what brand of hood and height it is, that as well thanks!

My hood is a bolt on. It's a 6" from glasstek. I never bolted it on though. It's just pinned.
so Josh, would that hood clear the window if it was hinged on factory style?

If it extends back too far it will hit the wind shield when you open it. I had to trim the back side of mine to clear when you opened it.

yea thats what I figured...I know AAR makes nice stuff, but I wanted to get a bolt on one that extends far back and then trim as nescessary for it to open up properly while still getting it as close to the window as possible...just not sure how far back at all the AAR ones extend

This is what was the cheap Jegs 2.5" bolt on cowl scoop. It was like $80 when I bought it but I think they are like $145 now.

Correct, the hood does not extend very far back...I didnt have time to have something custom made as I needed it quickly and didnt want a lift off hood
it looks good though
do you know what the weight savings were compared to a stock hood?
actually have a fella who wants to trade me an AAR 4" bolt on for my current steel hood...just can't decide if I want a more "to the window" style

Here is mine stock steel bolt on hood with fiberglass cowl.
Looks Great! that doesn't hit the window when the hood is fully opened?

UP22 is unlimited products right? I don't hear much good about them in recent times- what was the quality like and how much work did it need?

I have a Unlimited Mopar Pro Stock scoop. It had 2 very small shallow depressions in it. They filled in easly when I reprimed and painted. I will buy my next scoop from them to.
I am truckless..
