Both of Ricks cars showed very impressive numbers in those air conditions as did Jim Jarret's new ZL1 Camaro build. I have no dought they will shine in better air on a better track we just may not see it till the fall.

As for the heavy hitters in FAST running in the 9's! It's happened at one race two years ago in behond perfect air and a track that behond perfection. No disrespect to either racer but I think Dave would be the first to tell you his Roadrunner would not have been much quicker then the Firebird in 3000 feet of air and 90 degree temps.

Hats off to Rick Mohoney in both classes

Ed`s right.. In that air the RR would have ran 10.30ish and Jim`s "stock" ZL1 Camaro will be a top player. He ran a 11.70, first event he has raced and with a new set of tires.

The big Hemi went 11.34 in some pretty hot weather at Martin.

The L88 came back and hung a 11.26 on the board.

Game on nothing. Three Hemi cars got teched and the Vette didn't. Who cares what the Vette ran?

Have you EVER heard of teching 2,3,4 and 5 in a quick 8 ladder? What about low qualifier?

I call BS!!!! Not Game on

Why didn't the vette tech ??

I can't answer that for sure, but the car is owned by one of the race directors.

Blah Blah Blah, I heard the story about the valve spring tool.

I know one thing, if "I" were in a position of power (event organizer) "I" sure as poop wouldn't ask anybody to go through a tech procedure that I myself wouldn't go through. It's one thing to have a car in the race at all but to be number one qualifier and refuse tech is event oranizer suicide. Not very sportsman like if you ask me.

Who here disagrees?

Refused??

Terrible...As the organizer and the #1 qualifier I would think it would be in the best interest of all for that individual to even openly volunteer a teching to bring more awareness and accountability. Gotta agree Tom, definitely not in the spirit of sportsmanship..

I don't think he refused his number was just not pulled from a hat? It was the next 4 fastest car that where. That's the story I was told.

It really did not matter to me I had no horse in that race but I see history repeating itself.

How many FAST cars showed???????????????

Other then that I had a great time out there. Good people good times along with all the usual drama.

Donny, Tech is only good for "that day". How old is the date stamp on that photo? 5 years? Back then the car ran a 11.55 and this go round it went 11.25 in three thousand feet of air. His car got just a little stocker right Donny.

He is in a position where he should lead by example, be held to a higher standard. I don't have first hand knowledge of this but it has been brought to my attention he already had the valve covers off while they were teching the cars. Now at that point C'mon. He had to know it was a bad idea to not tech but he still refused despite Daves attempt to influence him to do so.

I look at it this way Donny, the three hemis WERE teched and what can you say about them? Rick went a .39 and passed tech. Terry can't say that, to me that .25 is just a number with nothing to stand on. I say so what.

You know why NHRA techs your car after you set a record Donny?

So, basically, any time, any where, anyone is asked to tech, Terry and Dave should submit to a full tear down because they run the event ?

all for no prize money.......

and I agree that Dave and Terry should be held to a higher standard, but I think you are being unreasonable to demand he tear down everytime he leaves the house.

that's all

Dave has done it , i remember seeing the pictures of him pulling a head because people accused him of running a megablock.

Unless the engine is SEALED, and the seals are never broken, tech cert is only good for the one event.
