iv to a 67 cuda notch, stock style 340 leafs, comp engineering 3 way adjustable shocks, stock shackels and no snubber. the wheel well lip is a good 3-4 inches off the tp of the tire at a standstill and i just dont like how it looks. i know these old mopars suspension was designed to lift and plant the tires on the hit witch the car does and hooks fine. some people i meet like the look of my cars stance cuz it kind of reminds tem of that old prostock style rake but id jut rather have my rear settled down ontop of the tire even if its just down to an inch away. anyway heres some pics of it sitting anybody got some ricks on evening ot my rear ride hight without a new susp system????????

Looks like someone put aftermarket springs on the rear...
take it to a spring shop and have the de-arch the rear
of the springs... the front of the spring should be
fairly flat... thats the part that holds the axle in
place and gives you the lift to plant the tire... the
rear section is your spring and gives you the ride
height.... or you could add lowering blocks... I
prefer to de-arch them...... this is assuming that
you arent sitting on bottomed out shocks... quick
check... unbolt the bottom of the shocks and pull
them off the mounts
EDIT
also check that your shackles are not messed up
(bottomed out or wrong angle)

rear shocks have plenty of extra travel in them and do not bottom out at full extension as i tested this when i installed them, shackels are in good shape not bent or damaged and also are angled just right. mr p body i think you are right and the previous owner installed some heavyduty 340 springs or maybe even leafs that are rated for more weight. the leaf itself maintais a pretty uniform curve throught the whole thing front to back im not sure what you mean by the front segemnt should be relativly flat? my front defanitly follows the curve from the rear section. anyway where could i take the car to get them de arched????? is that something that i can have done with the springs on the car? cuz if i have to pull them off ill just upgrade to something that has the ride height i want from the get go. thanks i advance.

Find a local spring shop in the yellow pages(or on
line) and take the car there... tell them what you
want and they can fix it

thanks mr p will do and hopefully have some pics of how it looks in a few weeks. and oh yea one more thing whats a good ballpart pinion angle for a 360/727/8/34 setup?? because im sure after fooling with it and a 3 inch arch it might get alittle out of wack. hopefully the susp shop can addres that to while its there. car is 80 percent street 20 percent strip maybe 5 times a year

I have super stock springs in mine and I found it way to high and the ride was like a stoneboat. I had mine de-arched (went to far actually) and it made all the difference in the world.

Actually, the pic in my sig was with the springs in their original form- with 500lbs of weight in the trunk and it was still to high!

I think Mr. P's suggestion will get the results your looking for.

Bellow is what original 340 springs sit like after 43 years. Hopefully there will be some mono leads on there soon.

We had the same problem with our super stocks. so, we put 2" aluminum lowering blocks. been in there for almost 20 years now.

About 4 degrees pinion angle.. if it was a race car
you would want more

If your using stock spring hangers in the stock location you could try flipping the hangers to raise the front spring eye and in the process lower the car some as well

This is exactly the stance I'm looking for.bad 340 if you get a chance could you measure the distance from the center of the wheel lip to the ground and report back to me via pm? Thanks to everyone you all have been very helpful I will report back with pictures once the car is siting how I like

You could replace the rear shackles with sliders. That should get you lower about an inch.

If your suspension is stock, you could do alot worse. Higher ride height = higher CG = more rise = more weight transfer. You can add a ton of grunt, before ride height becomes an issure.

Higher in the back end just makes it harder to get
the weight up and over the CG... if the rear was WAY
lower it would be easier to transfer the front weight back

dug up a picture of the car on the hit. as you can see shes got plenty of front end travel if you look at the first pic compared to this one. and you can also see the rear does rise quite a bit as it should so i defanitly have long enough shocks. i measured the clearance today and its roughly 4 inches from the top of my tire to the center of the wheel lip while the car is siting so im going to do a 2 inch de arch and a 1 inch drop block. i think that will get me where i want to be. thanks again everyone

I relocated the leafs on my 67 Fastback project awhile back and bought XHD leafs and its tail is in the air too although not as bad as yours.

I think I got the +1" springs and now I wish I had got the stock height ones.

I drilled a 1.5" lowering hole in the boxes so I lowered it after these pictures and it helped a lot.

Hopefully with a engine and fuel in it it will set pretty level.
