can a skilled builder make 8000hp N/A? can they make 2500hp? can thy even make 2000hp? N/A motors are limited boosted are not. as long as you have a large bank account
Given enough cu. ins. N/A motors are making 1000+ hp and that's just fine with me. And fuel motors are a forced inducted engine, not dependent on "giggle juice" to m,ake hp. As I said, the nitrous group have their own skills & enthusiasts. I just don't quite see the same rush out of a car you suddenly go from 400hp, to 600+ hp at the drop of a "pill" A wheelstanding 350hp (on paper)S/S or a SS/AH car that's N/A, under 500cu.in. nearing 1000hp THAT gets my attention.
You would if you were sitting in the drivers seat!!.
I got started with no2 because of a claimer engine class $3k claim...and no porting and a max cam lift rule of .485" they allowed a .063 no2 pill.. a max cui of 385cui...max 10'x26" tire..min weight since everyone was put in this same box..then everyone should be running the same et right?
not even close....they started out of the box running 10.90's and in 2yrs the fastest smartest guys ended up running 9.30's
so its all relative...and its still impressive to see a guy who was running tens..find the power and skill to get in the low 9's while still confined to the same restrictions.. I found that impressive..
I keep running it cause its fun.... Easy????? i guess building an atom bomb today is easy...I mean the instructions are out there anyone can do it....
all things are relative....you have guys saying their not impressed seeing a v8 go 9's when there 4cyl goes 8's its just your perspective on leverage....what ever leverage you can create for your mindset..to negate your shortcommings....
there will always be an excuse you can create when someone goes faster than you.....
(the term "you" or "yours" is a generalization not directed at a perticular person)

Nope, don't care for it,I like it natural, I can't afford to replace part's every week.

I would love to see someone spray a 400hp shot with no experience. You know just bolt it on and push the button. I guess that is why you have Monte Smith, Steve Johnson, Jeff Prock, list goes on. If it was so easy how can all these guys make a living tuning nitrous? I would have to say what bores me is any big tire car that doesn't run mid 7s or better, what do you need all that tire for if your not that fast.

Doesn't really matter to me one way or the other....I love to watch the outlaw heads up stuff and it's all power adders...... With that being said I am very impressed with a guy like my engine builder that's running 7.2's @ 195+ na in Top Sportsman Rickster

Win lights impress me.
Agreed
Posts like this just prove that guys who make power N/A are jealous at times of power adder cars, whether nitrous or turbo/supercharged, when they are beaten by it...It's like they are mad that they apparently had to go the "harder" way by doing it N/A (as if forced induction is easy as cake)
Im not going to hate on someone if their power comes from their motor, a bottle, or a hairdryer...at the end of the day power is power and whoever gets to the stripe first wins regardless of how "impressive" it is
Oh, and for the record, I have a cheater kit at home brand new in the box, and have also toyed with turbocharging my car..however, at the end of the day I always felt that building it N/A would be easier- not going to lie, learning how to tune nitrous or forced induction properly is a learning curve and imo just as hard if not harder than building and tuning an N/A car... It's kinda why I havent used any form of power adder (yet hehehe) ...thats just me though
carry on

There is no question that nitrous can make a ton of HP and it is quite involved and takes driving and tuning skills as well a dialed in chassis to be competative. It can also be costly. Am I impressed? Yes ,just to see them get down the track, will I ever run it it? Heck no. Though I respect any type of race car my loyality is to the grass roots style of race cars, especially the door cars and the everyday racers. I'am really supportive the "old school nostalgia and adverage bracket cars" that we see competing like at Beaver Springs. I really enjoy seeing a lot of different cars at the track.I can quickly get bored watching a T/F or Pro/Mod program seeing the same few cars over and over again, almost like watching a NASCAR race or basket ball game, skip everything except the last round, last lap or the last 15 seconds.
