What custom wheel choices are there , or do they all look like 4x4 wheels ?
Can I use wheels off a late model base Dodge van, the ones that are kinda like rally wheels ?
I think I know where I can get a set of those , IIRC they are 16's .. right ?
I know the rims you're talking about, I think they are the steel rims on the 94-01 1500's as well. To get those to work, your need to machine the center register from 3" to 3.5". Any machine shop with a lathe with at least a 16" swing could do it and it shouldn't be to much $ wise. I had an 89 shortbox that I put a set on and that's what I had to do. They fit great on the front but on the back they get really close to the box, I guess they have less offset that the stock 15" rims. I had 245/75/16 tires and they cleared by about 3/4", if I cornered to hard they would rub, not enough to do any damage to the tire or even hear or notice when you're driving but you could see it. with a low profile tire, you would have even more clearance and probably be fine.
As for aftermarket rims, there should be a ton, as the late 60's to 96 Ford half tons had the same bolt pattern and the same 3.5" center register. There seems to be no shortage of aftermarket rims on those things.
And just to clarify, what exactly changed on the 81-84 rotors? Is it just the machined diameter on the inside of the rotor where the bearing race presses into?

the hubs on the 5.5 rotors use a larger diameter inner bearing.

Uhhhh .. as far as I know, they were only on just the vans ?
My brother has a old retired work van and it had them so I called him to see if they could be had
He put them on his 91 4x4 Dodge
so, I guess that means they fit ?
Maybe after Christmas I go digging around a junk yard to look for a set
I took the little guy for about a 75 mile road trip today, it just truely is a sweet little truck
Well, I guess the vans are different that the 1500's, that's what I had to do to put 94-01 rims on my 89

Vans still had the larger hub so the van wheels Will fit the pre 94 trucks without a problem. They also use the same control arm till 97 or so. My cousin had a 96 or so shorty van and my mom had some 94 up 1500 rims for sale and when we went to put them on to see how they looked they wouldnt clear the hub. I dont think it matters if he finds wheels its already listed forsale

I agree,, the 8 1/4/8 3/8 axle shafts will interchange.
My 88 was a 318 NP435 shorty. I thought it had a 8 1/4 till I had a counter clown buddy at a dealer run the numbers. It came out to be a factory original equiped 9 1/4. That 9 1/4 diff that I have was going into my 87 RC till it met its demise.
I am truckless..

Are you thinking about Chrysler road wheels
Yep, they made on 1500 series trucks and light duty vans, wheels that look a lot like that but they are 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern and the center cap has a goat head on it
I seen a 96ish truck today with a set but, couldn't catch him to take a pic
here is what I did catch

That's a nice little truck. I'd love to build something like that too. Slammed, no moldings, 70s front bumper, pan in the rear, 91-93 grille, monotone, cowl hood and some Weld Wheels. There is one for sale around here. Think it's an 84, already has a 440 in it. Could probably get it for around 2k and it's pretty decent. Just have to keep telling myself, NO MORE VEHICLES right now.
