My 426 Hemi build is nearing the end. The engine was primed with oil today and will be buttoned up sometime tommorrow. I then get to bring it home and put it away until I`m ready to install it in my GTX. The intake won`t be torqued until after it`s in the car so that we can lube the cam again just prior to light off. This was a low mileage great running crate engine I purchased and had torn down for an inspection. We found a few very minor issues that could have led to major issues if not addressed, so it was well worth the effort. Maybe by summer of 2012 we can bring this beast back to life.

Thanks Rick, if it wasn`t for you... Yes, I`m getting excited to get it back. I look forward to the day it roars back to life. By chance do you still have the pictures of the day we picked it up? I think I remember you hugging it, LOL. Go ahead and post it if you can find it.

You handled the wrenches and I was running the camera. I did have to use a pry bar to get you away from hugging it. LOL!

Pep, what's up with the drivers exhaust manifold? Welded?

Scott, no, not cracked or welded. The manifolds were ceramic coated and I believe between the lighting in that garage, oil that had dripped on the manifolds, and camera flash it`s creating an optical illusion of being buggered up with a weld repair. Both exhaust manifolds have been bead blasted and look great. The bead blast didn`t remove the ceramic coating, it only dulled it down. The bead blast did remove a very few rust spots from where the coating was chipped. We may end up sand blasting them with black beauty to remove all traces of any coating. We haven`t got to that point yet.
